Registration, Fees and Financial Aid
For University of Illinois Students
Students enrolled at the University of Illinois register for translation courses through Banner. University fees apply.
The Center for Translation Studies offers one graduate assistantship (RA or TA) per academic year and one study abroad scholarship. Other financial aid opportunities are available through University Financial Aid and the Study Abroad Office. Students who graduate from the program are competitive for programs such as Fulbright. The program also attracts funding from professional associations such as ALTA, which support student travel to annual conferences.
For Non-Degree Students
Non-degree students must already have a BA degree to qualify. Students may register for up to two courses per semester, and only twelve credits may transfer toward an MA degree at the University of Illinois. See the policy from the Graduate College Handbook.
Non-Degree students must register for classes through Academic Outreach. The coordinator is Margaret C. Day. She must have received an approval email from the Center for Translation Studies before registering students in the program.
